Dear Sirs,
I just received an offer by you via www.musicianspages.com and would like to contact you refering that opportunity. May I introduce in brief: I am a violinist and Professor of Music from Vienna and also the director of 2 prominent impressarios / artist agencies in Vienna / Austria, which are active on highest artistic level in many parts of the world. If it interests you, please read my CV at the bottom of this e-mail. There you also find my data. It would be interesting for us, to cooperate with you even regularly, as I love Arabia. I am also active in Egypt and Lebanon and in close contact also with Maestro Abassi, who (as you might know) is the chief conductor of the Qatar Symphony Orchestra - I will meet him in Vienna on Oct. 13th. Also in the SOCIETY FOR AUSTRIAN - ARABIAN RELATIONS I am in charge for culture. Of course, I myself love to play the violin, what I always use to do with "the golden Viennese sound" of the Vienna Philharmonic. I am much honoured to have best contacts within an international artists family and use to offer only top productions with well thought through programs. Therefore we can offer to you only the best. If you like, please let us get into a closer contact and let´s discuss possibilities! I anyhow plan to come over to Qatar this year again and then I even will have the honour to meet HRH Sheika Mozah again for cultural talks. It would be a pleasure to meet you. Sincerely Laszlo Barki C.V. László Barki / english: László Barki was born 1958 in Vienna. He descends from a Hungarian musicians´ family - both parents Prof. László and Prof. Eva were violinists. From the age of 5 he learned piano and with 6 years, he was taught violin by his father. Until 1970 he was 2nd soprano with the famous Boys Choir. In 1970 and 1972 he was a prize winner at the Jugend Musiziert competitions. First he did not like to practice that much, but his father was very strict. 1974, when he became a student of the Music High School and the Academy of Music, he began to play in the School – and Academy Symphony Orchestras. He liked it that much - also being able to perform at the student concerts which were held regularly in the famous "Golden Hall" of the Musikverein - like his father with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, that he decided to become a professional musician. This formerly quite lazy boy found his real interest and love in music... In 1974-1978 he studied violin and viola at the Music Academy/University of Vienna with Prof. Sivo and Prof, Führlinger. His life as a professional musician started quite early, already at the age of 16, when he received his first contracts at the the legendary Waltz Orchestra at the Stadtpark under Prof. Staar and the renowned Operetta Orchestras of Baden and Bad Ischl. Prof. Eduard Macku elected him as his concert master - .that was a good training. László Barki also formed chamber groups and organised first gigs for his fellow students, most of whom later became his colleagues and top artists in the music scene. In 1977 the famous violinist Prof Alber Kocsis invited him to perform with his Westdeutsche Kammersolisten and appointed him to Prof. Max Rostal, who accepted him as his student in Cologne. Laszlo Barki moved to Germany and until 1981 continued his studies there, also in Chamber Music with Prof. Igor Ozim. At the same time László Barki studied Psychology and Philosophy at the Dortmund University. In 1978 he became first violinist of the Philharmonia Hungarica in Germany and was also employed as a violin teacher and was concert master of the Westdeutsche Kammersolisten. 1983 he completed his Violin studies in Budapest with Prof. Kocsis, also having been his assistant teacher. In that time Laszlo Barki regularly attended master courses as asactive student f.e. with Wofgang Schneiderhan, Wolfgang Brainin and Gerhard Hetzel. 1981 he returned to Vienna and was an extra with almost all major Viennese Orchestras. Also there was almost no well known ensemble in which he did not hold a leading position. In 1981 the former prominent President of the Vienna Philharmonic, Prof. Otto Strasser, heard him play and promised to appointed him to that famous orchestra. Totally unexpected, only a few weeks later, a dream became true when he really was invited for an audition and then became a permanent extra of the Vienna State Operas/Philharmonic! 1983 he completed his Violin studies in Budapest with Prof. Kocsis, also having been his assistant teacher. 1985, after an audition for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra , until 2005 he hold the position as 2nd Violinist and at the same time he taught at the Vienna Conservatory. For many years he had the pleasure, to play regularly in the First Violin section of the Vienna Courtchapel / Hofmusikkapelle, which consists only of members of the Vienna Philharmonic and is the oldest orchestra of the world. In 2005 Laszlo Barki left Vienna and became a Professor at the Nippori Academy of Music in Tokyo. He also was active as soloist and chamber musician, besides which he studied Arts Management. In 2008 László Barki returned to Vienna and since has been active in Austria and worldwide, performing Early Music, Classical, Romantic and typical Viennese works. Since he is also active as the director of his 3 fine Artist Managements: "Vienna Music -& Orchestra Management", "Euregio Arts Management" and "The Malta Arts-Humanities Management". He feels much honoured working together with great artists and to be able also to represent them as their Artist Manager. His goal is always to develop good and honest co-operations as a kind of ambassador, who builds bridges between the different cultures and thus can influence something through the messages of the Humanities. László Barki is proud of his son Andy (born 1985) and his Philippina wife LinLin always with a silent smile from:

At this time, I am available to perform for your event. Since I do not know the nature of your event, I will try to briefly explain my fees and services here, in a nutshell: My fee is $150. for the first hour, and $100. for each hour thereafter (pro-rated),with a minimum of $200. per engagement (that is why I entered the $200. amount for your event. I will need just a few more details about your event to confirm that as my final quote). I require a $100. deposit to hold your event date. For wedding ceremonies, it is a flat fee of $200., regardless of the length of the ceremony. (My wedding fee includes a live consultation in my home so the bride may audition her wedding selections "live" on the harp. I can play up to 30 minutes of prelude music before the ceremony, the bridal processional and recessional, as well as incidental music, such as for the unity candle, and postlude music as guests are leaving). For very large gatherings, amplification is available. I have played the harp professionally for over 30 years (although...lucky for me... most people I meet are astonished to hear that, since they guessed my age to be early 30-something!). Most of my career, I played harp on a full-time basis, in Dallas, Texas. For a number of years, St. Louis has been my home. I am degreed in harp performance. My repertoire is diverse: I routinely play Pop, Broadway, some jazz, classical, celtic, new age, symphonic, and religious music. I play for weddings, receptions, symphony, openings, retirement homes, dinner music, cocktail music, funerals, church functions, parties, trade shows, and style shows. Thank you for your interest in solo harp music for your upcoming event. I hope to hear from you soon! --Eva Murphy, Harpist (314) 753-3557 www.stlouisharp.com | ||||||||||||
