My name is Roberto Almo de Torres.
i would like to apply for a job as a musician, playing bass and/or acoustic guitar and singing.
I had been playing for almost 2 decades.
I started playing and strumming guitar when i was 12 years of age. My talent grew as a result of Going to church and performing with the "choir", improving my singing and instrumental skills. Performing songs from "the beattles", my favourite band, among other songs.
I used to learn every piece by listening, instruments or songs.that is what we call "zipra".
Unfortunately, i dont have studies But i can learn how to play a song very fast. I consider i have good skills and i work hard and i am serious with everything i do...
I was the only one in my family being adventurous enough, even though they all sing very good, to leave my country to try to make of this fabulous life my profession.
When i was 19, i became LEAD GUITARIST of a band we created my friends and i from the church "choir".
It was a difficult start because we didn't have money for instruments and even we had to take empty gallons to make it look like a drumset even it Didnt sound too good.
We struggled almost 1 year. At that time, we didnt have YouTube, CDs, just cartridge tape!!
Our very first performance was "the battle of the bands". I was lead guitarist for 4 years But after that we split and i worked 8 years in a company not related to music. That was the saddest period of my life.
I managed to come back to music Because i was performing during company parties and my colleages spread the word and one day i Got discovered by a band. But they wanted me to play bass, cause it was the only position available.
After 1 week they fired me But since that day, i challenged myself to become a good bassist. Many musicians know me as a good bassist with good and clean sound. I trained hard to gain speed.
I stick with a band (bad an the ugly), almost 5 years in Vietnam, we played in Singapore for 6 months in between.
Last may 17th2015, my contract finished and that is the reason why i am seeking for a job. For my family ( 2 kids: son at college and daughter 4th grade at school), for my everydays life that became so hard...
