Hey folks Johnny Derek here . . . YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL!
There's two things I've learned since being in the music business. The first is, everyone's time is precious!! The second is, it doesn't matter how talented you are, or how beautiful you look, if you can't "bring the walls down and entertain your guests" they won't stay!! Simple! But, if you can make everyone feel at home and at ease, . . . then they'll stay . . . . and drink more and more and the management will make a shitload of money! God willing!! Soooooo . . . every where I play music, I make sure and show up half an hour before the show is scheduled to begin and " get to know everyone"! That's right!! I know??!! So simple!!?? Who'da thunk it?? :-) Can I get an " Amen"???!! Yeeehawww! I find out their names, where they're from, and maybe some little tidbit of inside information about them so that later . . . after I start playing music, I have a vibe going with everyone in the room! It took me along time to recognize the significance of this!! "Play Good Music & Bring the Walls Down" and folks will stay a whole lot longer and the management will make a lot of money!! And that's what it's all about folks!!

What I'm trying to say here is that I am very comfortable making others comfortable and ensuring everyone has a good time wherever and whenever I play music! I don't just play them music . . . I entertain them too!
