Steve Rubin Resume

      Steve has been a drummer and musician for over 37 years. He currently leads The Skye Jazz Trio which is an open ensemble of players selected for performance as needed.

The Skye Jazz Trio is available as quartet, quintet and with voice.

Most recently the trio completed a 2 year run in NYC featuring Joe Vincent Tranchina ( jovitra.com) on keyboards.
They can be heard regularly throughout the NYC and NY state area in Orange County where Steve resides.

His first music instructor was Mel Lewis of the Thad Jones Mel Lewis Orchestra and several years later, Sonny Igoe, Tommy Igoe's father.
Steve worked with cover groups and a disco show band in the 70's. He's performed in colleges, clubs, restaurants and private venues .
Steve also is an electronic percussionist and can be heard on the Roland Handsonic on The Sandbox CD, "Play Date", with Warren Sirota.
